Men's Skin

Many teen boys take care of their skin because if they do not do it right, acne can become a large problem. However once your hormones settle and acne is not a problem anymore, men will usually drop their skin care routine or ignore essential parts of it. This can cause problems with different skin disease in the future. Men should listen to this and if you want to keep that great looking face that you worked hard for in the past, you need to think about continuing the right cares for your skin.

First, you need to determine your skin type. For the men that have not noticed their skin since the teenage years, it may have changed since then as your body as become more mature. If you rarely have skin problems you probably have “normal” skin but others may experience dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, or combination skin.

You can use skin care products that are made especially for your skin. You should avoid using harsh soaps that are made for your body on your face. These will strip your more sensitive facial skin of the natural oils and this will leave it dry and irritated. You should remember that you need to wash your skin twice everyday. This would be one time in the morning to take out the oils and debris from sleeping and again before you go to bed at night to have the dirt and sweat that has built up during the day.

If you have sensitive skin, you should have a toner to help your face stay healthy and look younger. You should look for a toner that is not alcohol based to give your skin the very best care. This product will restore the normal pH balance of your skin and give it an extra cleansing.

You should also remember to moisturize your skin. If you have no moisture, your skin will age faster and be more inclined to peel and flake off. If you have oily or combination skin, you will still need to moisturize. Look for products that will help your skin type. If you work in the sun for any period of time, you should use a moisturizer that has sun block in it. Sunscreen helps protects your face from skin cancer as well as keep you looking young.

Men who take care of their skin will look younger longer and are not likely to develop those age spots, acne, and other problems of the skin that will happen later in life. You should remember to ask your doctor or dermatologist if you have any problems or questions that you need to know about so that you can have the appropriate skin care for your face all of the time.

Makeup and Your Skin

Many women use make up everyday. Most will use make up during special occasions? If you are completely covering your face in make up or simply wearing some lipstick and eyeliner, it is important to use products that are safe for your skin. You should know that there are major cosmetic companies that make products made with chemicals that are harmful to your face. Learning how you can take out the dangerous products and use only good ones is important for your health.

You may wander way companies would use something dangerous in their products. It is simple, businesses have one goal and that is to make money. Cosmetic ingredients that are not safe are usually cheaper than the alternative make up that is being produced. Harmful ingredients are going to create a better-looking product in some cases. They do not tell you that after using the beautiful colors of eye shadow, your face may break out!

There are however, many companies realize that their customers are becoming smarter and want to know about their products before they use them. Our facial skin is very sensitive and it is very important to use the best products that you can. If you are looking for inexpensive or high end products, there are cosmetics, moisturizers, toners, and many other items that are going to be available out there for you so that you are not risking harmful consequences.

Some of the common dangerous ingredients to look out for when purchasing these items for your face are Methyl, Propyl, Butyl, and Ethyl. These are very well known toxins and can cause allergic reaction in many people. These chemicals are extremely cheap and are often used to kill bacterial growth in your products. Many companies are using them.

You should also be careful of Propylene Glycol and DMDM Hydrantion. These products are used in anti-freeze! Many of these products have been linked to abnormal kidney and liver function and can actually cause permanent damage to your organs.

You need to be very careful of what you put on your lips too. Most of the synthetic colors like C Yellow 6 can be dangerous to your skin and your body and when you put this chemical on your lips, you are eating poison to say the least. One time may not affect you, but after wearing the lipstick for a long period of time, you can start to feel the results. It is like smoking cigarettes on a regular basis.

So that you are safe, you should ask your dermatologist or doctor to recommend about what kinds of products to use. You need to be sure that your products are safe so that you can be safe and healthy. The healthier your skin is the younger you will look and you will be happier too.

Dry Skin

Sometimes skin has a low level of sebum, which is the natural oil that is produced by skin glands. It is called dry skin and it cannot hold moisture and will look parched and feel tight when washed and in some extreme times, it can show some signs of chapping and cracking. The wind and very high or low temperatures can steal the natural moisture and make the skin feel tight across the bones. Dry skin can cause embarrassing flakes and any mark or dry skin will be very dull and show up on cheeks and near the eyes. You may also find dry skin on the knees, hands and in the mid section.

The most common cause of dry skin is the lack of sufficient moisture from sebum. In some cases, this can be due to genetic conditions. There are also environmental causes like exposure to sun, cold, cosmetics, chemicals, and wind can cause dry skin too. Other reasons can be poor diet. A diet that is deficient in vitamin A and B is more likely to take away the skin’s moisture. Skin diseases like dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, or seborrhea are causes of dry skin. It can be a result also of other conditions like diabetes and hypothyroidism and the use of certain drugs like diuretics, antispasmodics, and antihistamines.

Dry skin is also going to need a lot of easy cleansing, massage to stimulate the sebum production and a lot of quality in moisture and oil. When you are washing your skin with soap it will take out the natural protective oil along with the dirt. Use of a good moisturizer will return lost water content to the skin. You can use neutral not acidic or alkaline products for washing the skin and abstain from using commercial soaps. After the second cleansing you need to treat the skin lightly with moisturizing cream.

Once you have taken a bath or shower, you can apply baby oil over the skin. The area that is around the eyes needs to have a bigger application of the oil. You can also massage your face and apply some homemade remedies that are suggested by a doctor.

Every morning you should treat your skin with a spray of mineral water. You should then apply some beauty mask for dry skin and mix together one egg, teaspoon of honey, half teaspoon of olive oil and a couple drops of rose water. This makes a great mask to use on your face and body.

Eating a good balanced diet that is loaded with vitamins and minerals is a great idea. You should include some sulfur containing foods like onion, garlic, asparagus, and eggs as part of your diet. You can eat more carrots and yellow and orange vegetables. You should refrain from alcohol, caffeine, coffee, tea, and sugary drinks. Other items to limit are French fries, and other junk food that are high in grease or fat. This will help to keep your skin healthy and stop it from drying out.

UV and Your Skin

Having the sun shinning on our body is something that will keep us happy and healthy. If you are concerned about your skin, you should know that the sun can do damage on your body too. The UV Index is something that most people have heard about and know that UV rays can cause skin damage and even cancer in some people. When you know and understand how the UV index works, you will have a good idea of the suns effects and what you can do to protect your skin and body in the best way.

UV rays are also known as ultraviolet rays. They can damage your skin and eyes and we have to be worried about this so that we wear protective clothing and use sunscreen and sunglasses to stay safe in the summer and in the winter months. In the last few decades, the UV index has been included in many of the weather reports in order to help people see the strength of ultraviolet rays that come from the sun on any day.

You need to first of all realize that the readings are taken at noon so the numbers are at their peak. This means that the sun’s rays are not always as harmful as what you see on the weather reports. This does not man that you should not wear sunscreen all the time. However you should not worry about the sun so much that you do not even go outside. The sun can be very healthy and uplifting for our body as well.

The UV index is going to read the sun’s effect with numbers and zero is the lowest. On many days, the UV index will be between zero and ten. A reading that is higher than ten will mean that it is more dangerous and this would be especially for anyone with fair skin. Being safe with sunscreen every time you go outside no matter what the reading is will help protect you. Zero to two is the “minimal” UV index rating and three or four means the danger is “low”. Having a 5 or 6 will show that “moderate” dangers are present and a seven to ten is “high” danger. Anything that is above ten is “very high.” You need to think about staying indoors if the reading is going to reach above ten.

The UV index is very useful because it is going to measure not only the heat from the sun but also the ozone, clouds, haze and pollution in any area on any day. These things are going to block out some of the dangers in the rays so a UV index will measure more than just how nice and sunny it is outdoors. You need to know that it is crucial that you protect your skin from the sun as well as make sure that you are catching some of the beautiful sunshine as often as you can.

Oily Skin

Oily skin is not fun to have. It can show up to be thick and dull looking with coarse pores and pimples forming. This is due to the oil glands of the skin and that they are overactive and oil will build up in the skin. This will make it more assessable to forming blackheads. The skin will look to have a greasy shine to it and this will make it look coarse. Many do not have oily skin and instead they have combination skin, which means that in some areas it may be dry or just normal in others. Oily skin does have its disadvantages and the main one is that it will age slower than other skin types.

Because of the dry skin, genetics will be more at play in the case of oily skin. There are other things that will contribute to oily skin conditions and they will include diet, hormones, cosmetics, pregnancy, contraceptives and environmental conditions like hotter and humid climates. Because the levels of hormones are high, especially testosterone, this will make the oil glands over active, oily skin is going to be more noticeable in the teenage years. The same reason will be for oily skin conditions in women that are pregnant or in menopause.

There are regular cleansing routines with hot water and soap that is needed to prevent oil build up and clogging of skin pores. You need to be careful that you do not use harsh soaps and other products that will make your skin dry. If you are using dehydrating products on the skin, the upper layer will go dry and shrink. This will result in the obstruction with the flow of oil through the pores. The result is going to clogging of the pores.

You need to wash the skin with hot water that is comfortable for you. Hot water will dissolve the oil better. Do not use cleansing creams. You need to go for an antibacterial cleansing lotion or a mild medicated soap to do this. When you are done cleaning, treat the skin with a natural and oil free moisturizer.

If your skin is too oily, and you are under the age of thirty, you should do four cleanings a day and use little or no moisturizer after cleansing. Use your fingers to massage your face while you are cleansing.

A clay or mud mask will help you to take care of the oily conditions of the skin. For sensitive skin, white or rose colored clays are better to use as a mask. Before putting on makeup, a woman may want to use antiseptic day cream that will reduce the activity of oil glands.

There are diets that are high in protein but are going to lack the sugar, fluids and salt that are recommended for anyone with oily skin problems. Eating vegetables and fruits are defiantly going to help you. You especially want the ones that are rich in vitamin B2. These will be whole grains, beans, nuts, and royal jelly. You should use minimum oil in your diet and stay away from alcohol, soda, sugar filled drinks, chocolate and many other junk food items. You need to talk to your doctor or dermatologist about your skin conditions and find out what is best for you.

Natural Products

There are so many different professional models that are often said to have the natural look. This means that they are appearing to have little or no makeup on in order to define the everyday look of that intended audience. It is no secret that these models are working with make up artists behind the scenes and are done up to look as thought they are perfect even when they get out of bed in the morning. To get this same look, we purchase makeup and many times these “natural” girls were advertising them. In the fashion world, the word natural also means something else. It is a word that we associate with fresh, safe and organic types of items. This is what everyone wants in today’s world because we are trying to focus on the environment and many make up companies have lines that include natural products.

This “natural” makeup is considered to be safe. Is it? If you are reading the label on the back of your “natural” face wash or “natural” toner, you may see a lot of different chemical type words that you cannot pronounce. Natural does not mean natural these days so you have to be careful when you are purchasing them. This is true for products that are marked as natural and are usually more expensive than the other cosmetics.

The problem is with regulating these laws. “Natural” is a word that can be used by companies with little truth involved. These laws will help to regulate advertising a product as natural when they are not so natural. Natural products will have natural elements. The lipstick that you buy may contain some plants that were grown organically, but that is without the use of chemicals. The advertisements put this fact on the package and they will ignore the fact that the plants at the lab are mixed with a number of synthetic or man made ingredients too.

How can you tell if a product is really natural? This is easier than you would think. Turn the box over and look. There are thousands of synthetic ingredients that are used in make up all the time. By finding the natural products we can be sure that we are taking good care of our skin. If your product contains fragrance, lanolin, mineral oil, sodium hydroxide, talc, or products that you cannot even say, you should not believe that it is natural. If you have any questions there are professionals that can help you check out the good products and leave the bad ones behind. If you want natural products, you should be able to find them and not to be stuck with products that are bad. If you want some natural products you will be able to find them and not be stuck with products pretending to be natural.

Fragrances and Your Skin

There are so many different fragrances out there on the market today. Most people have different smells that they like the most. however some of these smells can turn others off. Men and woman have specific “smells” that are used for their gender and other scents like fruit punch are used in children’s products. There are fragrances that do a lot more than just make you smell good, they can also make you feel great too. Fragrances can do important things for your skin’s health as well. It is important to remember to think about scents that are in your products when you are purchasing skin care items on the market.

You need to know that not all of the fragrances are good for your body. If you have any skin conditions or sensitive skin, you may need to get products that are not scented. It is important to remember that most of the fragrances are not organic. Flowers, fruits, and many others that we smell in our regular lives will usually not be strong enough or will lose their odor fast when they are mixed with other things. That is why chemicals are used to produce the smells that you love and know like lilac, pine, and vanilla. These are chemicals that are not going to be harmful to the skin in most cases but can cause a rash from time to time. You need to watch and check the label for the ingredients that are going to cause allergic reactions in your body.

There are a few concerns regarding them, but usually fragrances are fine for your skin. Fragrances can actually help you to feel better. This is what aromatherapy is all about. This is a type of healing and preventative form of medicine. This method is called alternative and the patient will smell different scents to help them deal with the medical conditions. Some of the acupuncturists, massage therapists, and other professionals will use the aromatherapy for their practices.

When you are purchasing skin care products, you can use some of these same things to help you choose products that are going to make you feel better. Mint is said to be something that will energize you so that you can wake up in the morning. There are soothing smells like lavender and this will help you fall asleep when you are using it at night. You can find a list of the scents to help you with your various moods and different health conditions from the Internet or a professional that would know.

Fragrances are great tools to use with skin care products. They can really improve your smell and your mood too. Not only this but you can improve your health with most of them. if you want to learn more about how scent can help you and your body feel better, you should talk to a health care professional or your family doctor to learn more about aromatherapy and other scent topics that can benefit you.

You need to stay away form cleansers that contain harsh acids because this will only irritate your skin further. To avoid irritation you should never scrub your face. It is best to use only your fingertips when you are washing and this will limit the sensitivity in your skin and keep your pores clean.

Another problem with the skin is eczema. This will intrude upon 15 million Americans and eczema can show up in a many ways. It is usually going to appear as a dry patch of skin that is red and irritated and it can also lead to cracking, itching, blisters, and seeping sores.

Eczema is known to be a hereditary condition but it can also be brought on by other reasons. There are things like irritants such as colognes, perfumes, detergents, soaps, household chemicals, and of course stress can bring on the eczema symptoms.

You may wander how you can combat this disorder. The first thing is to avoid any potential triggers like any of the above. Prevention is the best medicine for most skin conditions, and eczema is no exception to the rule. If you already have eczema, you should not get upset. There are many creams and ointments that are going to help treat the symptoms of it.

The best advice for any skin problem is to get help forms a good dermatologist. The professional help will have the skills and the tools that are needed to address and treat your skin the right way. Also you can regain your confidence and get back to a normal life without worrying about your skin breaking out.

Your Acne and the Society (Social impacts of acne to a person)

“Some people think that the physical things define what’s within… So full of the superficial…”

We could not deny the fact that in this world of beauty magazines, you would always feel that there is a need to look good. What would you feel when there are red oily humps on your face? Of course, this would matter much.

When one has ACNE, it would definitely cause an effect that would let the person not only feel a certain “missing ____” inside. Not only that, the following are even worse outcomes brought about by having ACNE in connection with the present society:

· Social withdrawal
· Decreased self-esteem
· Reduced self-confidence
· Poor body image
· Embarrassment
· Feelings of depression
· Anger
· Preoccupation
· Frustration
· Higher rate of unemployment

There are 3 key points to consider in seeking for the best way of solving acne problems:

Solution takes time so never resort to “fast-promise” remedy. Bear in mind that it will not get healed over night; it is a case of patience and dedication. Patience to wait for the right time to heal and dedication to do one’s regimen for treatment are all needed.

Not all methods will work for all. Do not think that the method for A and B are also good for you. Each of us has a unique skin type so consider all options and be keen in choosing one.

You may need a dermatologist’s advice. Do not experiment this time. Acne is a sensitive skin problem so it needs delicate way of treatment. Seek the expert’s help or else you will end up with a worsen condition.
Society favors those who look good. We do not have to look perfect in order to meet that standard. We just have to have the confidence and it could be obtained if one feels comfortable with his or her self. This is achieved when you get the healthy skin you want.
